Boyland Jr., a Democratic assemblyman from one of Brooklyn’s most prominent political families, was acquitted on Thursday of conspiring to take $175,000 in bribes in return for using his influence on behalf of a health care organization that runs hospitals in Queens and Brooklyn.”
Colin Moynihan writes: “An associate of a Bronx city councilman testified on Thursday that the councilman, Larry B. Seabrook, regularly asked a political organization that he was affiliated with to reimburse him for a variety of expenses.”
David Chen notes: “Facing mounting criticism from the City Council and a lawsuit from advocates for the homeless, the Bloomberg administration on Thursday postponed until next month the imposition of tighter rules for homeless people seeking shelter.”
