Raw Video: Romney in Shouting Match With Crowd

Rafael,

In the wake of last year's horribly misguided Citizens United decision by the Supreme Court, you led the charge with me to restrict corporations' power in elections and return power to the citizens of our democracy.

In a major victory for corporations' unrestricted and unregulated ability to influence elections, Republicans in the Senate kept our DISCLOSE Act from passing last year.

That Republican obstruction may have been misguided and cynical. But recent comments by some Republican presidential candidates show a much deeper misunderstanding.

This video of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney claiming that "corporations are people, too" -- and former half-term governor of Alaska Sarah Palin backing him up -- has to be seen to be believed.

Watch the video of Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin claiming corporations are people here:

This video is so important because it so clearly shows the contrast between Democrats and Republicans.

Democrats are fighting hard to preserve Social Security and Medicare, create more jobs for people that need them, and make sure our education system does right by our kids.

Republicans can't even tell the difference between a flesh and blood human being and a business entity that doesn't exist outside its legal definition.

Thank you for your support,

Chuck Schumer
